This terminal roadway is an elevated structure 2,400 ft. long and 50 ft. wide. It connects the arrival terminals and is constructed with the use of a two-way, concrete "waffle" slab that spans 60 ft. and is post-tensioned in both directions. The construction method used repetitive metal forms, making this a very economical yet attractive structure. T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) was the structural consultant to Watson, Davila & Villate Consultants of Puerto Rico, the prime consultant.
- Kwong Cheng, current OPAC Principal, served as Project Engineer for TYLI and performed analysis and design of the entire structure, developed all final sketches and visited the job site to resolve construction issues.
