The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) has an ongoing wayfinding and signage improvement project designed to help passengers easily navigate through the system via new, easy-to-understand signage and Transit Information Displays.

The new signs will provide consistent, understandable directions through intentional use of color cues and pictograms to better convey messages. The new screens will also provide real-time departure information and platform details for upcoming trains. OPAC provided structural design to the following Projects:

  • MacArthur Station Site Hardening (2013): As subconsultant to TSE, OPAC prepared design for CCTV camera supports and electrical equipment cabinet supports.
  • Real Time Display (RTD) Signs (2016): As subconsultant to TSE, OPAC prepared design for RTD sign supports at 12 stations.
  • West Oakland Station Site Hardening (2018): As Subconsultant to TSE, OPAC prepared design for CCTV camera supports and electrical equipment cabinet supports.
