The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) has an ongoing 34.5 KV Cable Replacement project designed to install a new conduit and cable for their traction power system. OPAC provided structural design to the following Projects:

• BART 34.5 KV Cable System Upgrade between MacArthur Substation (KMA), Rockridge Substation (CRO), and Ashby Substation (RAS). As subconsultant to AECOM, OPAC provided design check for design of supports for new 34.5 KV conduits and cable trays, and new equipment foundations at substations. Design completed in 2010.
• BART 34.5 KV Cable Replacement on A-Line between Nineteenth Avenue Substation (ANA) and Coliseum Substation (ACO). As subconsultant to TSE, OPAC prepared design for 34.5 KV cable supports and cable tray support frames. Design completed in 2016 and construction to be completed in 2018.
• BART 34.5 KV Cable Replacement on K-Line between Washington Street Substation (KWS) and Nineteenth Avenue Substation (ANA), KWS and Twenty Third Street Substation (KTT), and KWS and West Oakland Substation (KOW). As subconsultant to TSE, OPAC prepared design for 34.5 KV cable supports and conduit support frames. Design is to be completed in 2019 and construction to be completed in 2020.
• BART 34.5 KV Cable Replacement on M-Line between Transbay Tube West Portal (MTW) and Balboa Park Substation (MBP). As subconsultant to TSE, OPAC prepared design for 34.5 KV cable supports and conduit support frames. Design completed in 2018 and construction to be completed in 2022.
• BART 34.5 KV Cable Replacement on A-Line between Coliseum Substation (ACO) and Union City Substation (AUC). As subconsultant to WSP, OPAC prepared design for 34.5 KV cable supports, isolation disconnect switches (IDS) foundation pads and conduit support frames. Design is to be completed in 2019 and construction to be completed in 2021.
